Welcome to this week’s edition of the Load of Croc. Gee it was great to see the rain fall down last Thursday. It certainly helps with our gardens and trees that we are trying to get growing here. It settles the dust and washes our cars as well. Yes it makes it a bit boggy but there is always the other side of the coin to think about.
The Farmers. It wasn’t long back last year when North West Queensland was in severe drought where scores of cattle had to be put down and some farmers even took their own life due to how desperate things had got. Something to think about….

Please note that check in time for any powered or unpowered site booking be it short or long term is strictly from 11am. This is to allow our grounds staff to conduct departure checks and prepare sites for arrival.

This week we cooking up Roast Lamb and veges accompanied with gravy and/or Mint Sauce. Happy Hour begins at 5pm with live entertainment from Les Kropp. Dinner service is around 6.45pm with desserts available to purchase from the cafe after dinner. Check out the board outside the cafe during the evening and I will announce the menu when we draw the lucky door prizes. Bookings are essential and can be made at Reception prior to 12pm Friday. It is BYO Plate and Cutlery and of course your beverages.

As mentioned earlier with the check in time for powered or unpowered sites being 11am onward, if your arrival is going to be after 5pm when the office closes please make contact with us by phoning 47 459277. We can then set up a late arrival self check in procedure with.

Sunset Cafe
Our cafe is open for business daily from 9am to 3pm daily. We have a selection of foods and beverages to choose from. We now have extra Ice Cream Flavours for the cones such as Chocolate, Vanilla Cookies n Cream, Macadamia, Rum n Raisin and Strawberry. You can get a beautiful coffee and cake to enjoy at the Entertainment Area.
Your Site area usage
Your Powered Site is designed to be able to take your van beside the slab (if you have one) and the boat up the side. You will need to look at your site and make sure that you are making the usage of your area properly. I am seeing problems such as congestion that will occur if site space is not utilised efficiently. Even if I have spoken to you, look again as I will need to come back to you. I am looking for co-operation on this issue so please assist. Thanks

Wooden Fired Pizzas Wednesdays between 5pm and 7pm
Wood Fired Pizzas
We do Wood Fired Pizzas Wednesdays between 5pm and 7.30pm. We will be making Meatlovers, Hawaiian, Satay Chicken and our new pizza BBQ Chicken and Feta. Pizzas must now be pre-ordered at reception prior to 5pm on the Wednesday for catering purposes. They are great pizzas so come up and order yours.

Sunset Bingo is awesome!!!!!!
Every Wednesday at 9.30am we hold the best Bingo in Karumba with free coffee, tea and biscuits supplied to players. Don’t forget you can enjoy a $5 Mango Smoothie at half time, orders for those are taken at the cafe before play starts.
Art and Craft
Art and Craft is on Thursday afternoons from 1pm with free coffee, tea and biscuits provided.
Site Privacy
As we are getting busier I think it is very important to respect each others privacy be it short or long term clients. Roadways are not only for cars but for pedestrians as well. Use these roadways to make your way around the park, there are plenty of them. Don’t walk through other people’s site as it is not respectful to do so.

70’s Disco Charity Night All Come Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park
70’s Disco Charity Night
On June 30 we are holding a 70’s Disco Night to raise money for the Cancer Council. Dress up in your best 70’s disco gear with prizes given out to the best dressed of the night. This will be judged from a panel of “expert” judges. The cover charge is a minimum $5.00 which will be the donation toward the Cancer Council. We will now need to take bookings for this function so please do so at reception as soon as possible.
Wednesday Pizza Happy Hour Coming Soon
On Wednesday 7th and 14th June we have Bruce Keipert performing live from 5pm to 7.30pm. Bruce has played drums from childhood and has covered a wide range of musical styles over his career. He completed his national service as a drummer for the army big band and has formed numerous bands in Adelaide, Sydney and the Central Coast. Bruce also is a vocalist and will perform live on these two Wednesday nights for us here at the Sunset Caravan Park.
Entertainment Area
Our Entertainment area is where our WiFi and cafe is located at.
When we close our reception at 5pm we place the tv on a sleep timer that will go off at approximately 9pm. If there is something you would like to watch in the evening prior to 9pm let us know and we will place that channel on for you. Of course first in best dressed.

We do tour bookings for Kerry D Fishing Charters, Karumba Fishing Adventures, The Ferryman Cruises, Croc and Crab Tours and Queensland Rail’s The Gulflander train that runs out of Normanton. Bookings on all of these can be made at Reception between 9am
and 4.30pm. For more information pop into reception and ask our friendly staff and pick up some brochures. In BREAKING NEWS, we now do bookings for Karumba Saltwater Fishing Charters. All of these tour bookings we do for you are done FREE OF CHARGE.
Speed of vehicles
It is very important that all vehicles observe the walking pace speed limit that we have in place here in the park. We have this to protect everybody safety including kids that ride around on their bikes. It also reduces the dust emissions that come from a moving vehicle.
